Carter Training
Carter Training was established in 1988 to meet the training and assessment needs of operators within the construction industry.
With our well established plant hire business, the CITB initially approached us to become involved in the set-up of the then CTA (Certificate of Training
Achievement) scheme, it was about to launch.
Our managing director became one of the earliest accredited instructors after attending intensive courses held at CITB headquarters. This in turn led to the training division being established, to complement the existing plant hire and building divisions and provide customers with an enhanced offering that further met the needs of the industry.
Our managing director is also an approved trainer and tester for the CITB (now called CPCS) scheme. Carter Training is accredited to the CAA, an alliance between Cskils and City & Guilds, for the provision of NVQ certificates and diplomas from levels 2 to 6 in Plant Operations and Controlling Lifting Operations. Additionally, we are accredited training providers of the more recent National Plant Operators Registration Scheme (NPORS), which provides a more cost effective option and further variety for our customers.
We have implemented and maintain a quality management system within our business, which we were awarded in January 1998 with the assessment and successful registration for the ISO 9001 requirements.
We specialise in general health and safety issues including risk assessments and safe working procedures, as well as full novice training and experienced worker assessments covering 40+ of the CPCS and NPORS plant categories. We currently have two full-time instructors / assessors, one of these being the managing director, who cover all the categories on offer for all of the schemes we are involved with.
