ABRASIVE WHEELS SAFETY 1/2 day programme Who will benefit? Construction operatives who may be required to mount and use Abrasive Wheels and discs.
Course Content • Introduction • Regulations for the use of abrasive wheels • Duties of employers, employees and others • Personal protective equipment • Approved methods of inspecting, servicing and storing equipment • Practical workshop inspecting and mounting of wheels • Abrasive Wheels appointment documentation • Written multi-choice assessment
Objectives To provide training to comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act and the Abrasive Wheels Regulations, in the safe mounting of abrasive wheels and discs. On completion of this programme, those attending will: • Be able to carry out the correct mounting of Abrasive Wheels on hand held cutting machines/angle grinders and bench grinders • Understand how to use Abrasive Wheels Safely on site • Be aware of the hazards involved in using Abrasive Wheels and the precautions which should be observed.
