CONFINED SPACE ENTRY - 1 Day Awareness course

 

The course is aimed at promoting knowledge and understanding of the legislation and Health & Safety aspects of entering and working within confined spaces. The course is classroom based and of value where risk assessments require such training to reduce risks on site.

 

Course Objectives

  • Recognition of the hazards of foul atmosphere and how to resolve such

  • Understanding legal requirements associated with Confined Space Working

  • Understand emergency actions and procedures

Legislation, Section 29 & 30 factories Act

H A S W A 1974 (responsibilities)

Examples of Confined Spaces

Protective Clothing

Gas monitors, breathing apparatus escape sets

Safety systems of work

Harnesses

Permits to work & likely accidents

CITB grants may be available to CITB registered levy paying companies
