N.B. This course may be used as an aid towards passing the new Health & Safety test.

It cannot be used as a Health & Safety pass certificate for application for a CSCS operators card

1 day programme

Who will benefit?

All construction operatives who wish to register on the above scheme (other than those that qualify by the achievement of NVQ/SVQ) irrespective of their experience including employees, the self-employed and unemployed.

This course is also ideally suited as a 1 day Site Induction Safety course.

• Excavations in confined spaces

• Fire prevention

• First Aid

• Health & hygiene

• Health & Safety at work regulations

• Manual handling

• Noise & vibration

• Personal protective equipment

• Safe use of vehicles

• The control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH)

• Use of hand held equipment and tools

• Working at heights

• Working with electricity underground and overhead services

Objectives

On completion of this programme, those attending will;

• Be familiar with their responsibilities under current Health & Safety Legislation appertaining to the Construction industry.

• Be able to identify the major hazards associated with their work and take appropriate preventative and protective measures

• Understand procedures and systems for working safely
