About the Carter Group
The origins of the Carter Group can be traced back to 1912, when H Carter & Sons was established in Budleigh Salterton in the south west of England. More recently the Carter Group was formed and, to this day, it remains a family business operating mainly in Devon, Dorset, Somerset and Cornwall.
Carter Haulage and Plant Hire has been in the industry for over 40 years and is a member of the Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) with Company Director, Nick Carter, having completed a term as the South-West Area Representative.
We also conform to the requirements of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) and British Standards Institute (BSI – the national standards body for the UK).
In recent years Carter’s EB Construction Training facility has become an approved centre for the provision of construction plant training and assessment, through a variety of awarding bodies including NPORS. Training is available for crane operators, slinger / signallers, appointed persons, crane / lifting supervisors and plant/vehicle marshals.
