Case study - Crealy Farm silos

This week Carter Plant Hire was at Crealy Farm near Exeter lifting six new silos into place.

As with any contract lift, a full lift plan was provided along with a qualified team of people including Ben Carter as Lift Supervisor and Crane Operator and a sling/signaller. For larger or more complex jobs, especially where the crane operator does not have sight of the drop, a larger team is used. As this job was fairly straightforward with a clear sightline to the final resting place of the silos, only one slinger/signaller was needed.
